Birds Do It, Too
The Amazing Sex Life of Birds
by Kit and George Harrison

Garden Birds Do It, TooStraight from the internationally-renowned birdwatching team of Kit and George Harrison comes the shocking, eye-opening truth: raw facts of love and sex among our feathered species. Few are aware that daily they may be witness to an avian Kama Sutra beyond human ken. The Harrisons introduce the reader to multiple variations of love among the birds, ranging from the oh-so-friendly wren in your own backyard to the amazingly over-endowed alpine accentor, from the cuckolded chickadee to the lesbian gulls of Santa Barbara Island. The details are fascinating, amusing and frank. With a light, wry touch, Kit Harrison chronicles such spicy tidbits as the record-holder for number of copulations per clutch (goshawk, 600) to duration of copulation (Vasa parrot/104 minutes). Illustrator Michael James Riddet wields a delicate brush as he captures the moment(s) in striking black-and-white detail. Signed by the authors.

Kit and George Harrison are award-winning authors, photographers and television producers. The Harrisons have written many books on nature and the outdoors, including Garden Birds of America, Backyard Birdwatching for Kids, The Backyard Bird Watcher, and America's Favorite Backyard Birds. They produced and hosted five PBS specials on backyard wildlife and are writers for Birds & Blooms and National Wildlife magazines.

Michael James Riddet has been capturing the beauty of nature's creatures on canvas for over 30 years, painting works for the National Wildlife Federation, Sports Afield, the International Society for the Preservation of Birds, and the Franklin Mint, as well as many books and magazines. Twice he has won the Wisconsin Duck Stamp competition.

"Kit and George Harrison are the Masters & Johnson of the bird world."

Bob Strohm, Editor-in-Chief, National Wildlife
