George & Kit Harrison

George and Kit Harrison are award-winning nature writers, photographers, book authors, PBS television hosts, and consultants in the field of nature and the outdoors.

The Harrisons have authored or co-authored 13 books, including The Backyard Bird Watcher; Garden Birds of America; and Squirrel Wars—Backyard Wildlife Battles & How to Win Them. Six Harrison PBS Specials, including Squirrel Wars and How to Win Them, are currently airing nationwide on PBS stations.

George is Field Editor for National Wildlife and Contributing Editor to Birds & Blooms magazines. He was a consultant to the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum, Wausau, Wisconsin, during its first 13 years, organizing the internationally acclaimed “Birds in Art” and “Wildlife In Art” exhibitions. He is the recipient of the Outdoor Writers Association of America's Jade of Chiefs Award and "For distinguished service to conservation," and their Ham Brown Distinguished Service Award. He is also a past-president of OWAA.

The Harrisons’ company, Harrison Productions, Inc., is a nature communications firm in Hubertus, Wisconsin.
